Operating instructions for the Hot Off The Press 50 Classes CD-ROM:
The 50 Classes CD-ROM uses an autorun feature which automatically runs the 50 Classes CD-ROM software when it is inserted into the CD-drive. If autorun capability is disabled on your computer system, select the CD-ROM icon on your computer to open the CD-ROM directory of the 50 Classes CD-ROM and run the Start_Here.exe file (PC) or
StartHere file (Mac) to start the Hot Off The Press 50 Classes CD-ROM.
To install Acrobat Reader 4.05 or Quicktime 5.0 for Windows or Mac, follow these steps: When the 50 Classes CD-ROM is loaded, and the Categories Index is displayed, the user may select the 'Get Quicktime' or 'Get Acrobat' icons to navigate to the software installation screen where users may install either of the software choices for PC or Mac.
If a user is directed to the software installation page automatically when trying to navigate to the 50 Classes Video Index, then the 50 Classes software has detected that the user's system does not have Quicktime 5.0 software or later installed, which is necessary to view the CD-ROM video content. Acrobat Reader is necessary to print the Article & Pattern contents of the 50 Classes CD-ROM.

Trouble Shooting Issues:

1) CD-ROM Software does not automatically start after loading CD-ROM:
Solution: Select the CD-ROM icon on your computer to open the CD-ROM directory of the 50 Classes CD-ROM and run the StartHere.exe file (PC) or Start_Here file (Mac) to start the Hot Off The Press 50 Classes CD-ROM.

2) White background displays with audio-only in video classes:
Solution: Install Quicktime 5.0 from the software installation of the 50 Classes CD-ROM.

3) Patterns and Print Article buttons do not function:
Solution: Install Acrobat Reader 4.05 from the software installation section of the 50 Classes CD-ROM. This will allow the opening and printing of all PDF content on the 50 Classes CD-ROM.

4) 50 Classes CD-ROM main display and navigation buttons are cut-off:
Solution: The 50 Classes CD-ROM requires a minimum display setting of 800x600 pixels. Change the video display settings on your system monitor to 800x600 or greater. Consult your computer manufacturer's documentation on how to set your monitor's display settings.
